AGI – The ‘queen of happy goats’ is dead. The dream of integration and redemption that she embodied may have been one of her employees, a young African like her, with whom she had had financial disagreements.
Agitu Ideo Gudeta, the Ethiopian shepherdess transplanted to Italy, was found dead tonight at her home in Frassilongo in Val dei Mocheni in Trentino. She, a shepherd originally from Ethiopia where she fled as a result of social conflicts and threats she had received from her government, took refuge in the mountains of Trentino in a valley, the Valle dei Mo’cheni, one side of the more ‘ frequented Valsugana.

Agitu, who became the ‘queen of happy goats’, began to raise 15 native goats in that corner of the mountain and reached 150, the current ones, in addition to 50 laying hens.
