BRINDIS – The Covid pandemic does not recede in Puglia, one of the 10 regions that, according to the monitoring of the Ministry of Health and the ISS, has a defined high risk for the maintenance of intensive care. In the last 24 hours, according to data provided by Governor Michele Emiliano, another 313 infections have been registered (two less than the 315 cases found last Wednesday, October 15, the maximum peak of the epidemic). The tests carried out were 5582. In the Brindisi area there are eight new positives. The situation in Bari province remains critical, plagued by another 162 infections. The other positive swabs are distributed as follows: 40 in the province of Bat, 45 in the province of Foggia, 5 in the province of Lecce, 52 in the province of Taranto, 1 province of unknown residence. Five deaths were recorded: 2 in the province of Bari, 1 in the province of Foggia, 1 in the province of Lecce, 1 in the province of Taranto.
Since the beginning of the emergency, 478,743 tests have been performed: 5,431 are the recovered patients; Currently, 4,673 are positive cases. The total number of positive Covid cases in Puglia is 10,734, divided as follows: 4,470 in the province of Bari; 1009 in the province of Bat; 837 in the province of Brindisi; 2532 in the province of Foggia; 924 in the province of Lecce; 877 in the province of Taranto; 80 attributed to residents outside the region; 5 province of unknown residence.

The situation in the province of Brindisi
As for the province of Brindisi, 14 Covid patients out of a total of 20 available beds are currently hospitalized in the Infectious Diseases department of the Perrino hospital, most of whom come from other local health authorities in the region. At least four are close to quitting. In this sense, the reopening of the post Covid center in the Mesagne PTA is scheduled for next Monday (October 19). Patients waiting for the negative swab will stay here. Meanwhile, San Pietro Vernotico is no longer Covid Free. The Municipality entered the range of 1-5 currently positive cases from the epidemiological map attached to the bulletin.
