Updates on the new coronavirus cases in Sicily came shortly after 5 pm. That’s 1,299 in the last 24 hours. This is more than 200 new cases more than yesterday’s figure. The number of swabs processed is also concerning: only 7,308. (yesterday they were 8,497). The positivity rate now rises to 17.7%. It is the highest figure in history. These are the most prominent data recorded in the latest 2020 bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health on Covid cases.
Unfortunately there are another 31 deaths (yesterday there were 29). However, there is good news: ordinary hospitalizations go from 1,085 to 1,069 (-16) while those in intensive care go to 171 (+2) with thirteen new admissions. The total number of currently positive people in Sicily now stands at 33,868. The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 93,644. 787 people have recovered in the last 24 hours.
