From new infections to current positives, from victims to hospitalizations: for the second day in a row, the numbers are decreasing in Sicily. Pending the new Dpcm that will mark the Christmas rules, the daily bulletin says that 731 infections have been identified on the island out of 8,109 processed swabs (the positivity rate continues to decline, 9%). It should be remembered that quick swabs are not counted.
Unfortunately there are still victims, 22 in the last 24 hours, but also a high number of cured: 1,532. And for the second consecutive day, the number of cured is higher than that of new infected, this means that the current positives (people who have the virus to date) go down again (-823) and become 33,865.
The decrease in hospital beds occupied by Covid patients also continues, with 1,091 currently hospitalized (the balance is -40). While there are 182 patients in intensive care (+3 compared to yesterday) with 19 new entries. The blocks of the house are 32,592. This is the breakdown of the new cases by province: Catania (356), Palermo (116), Messina (89), Ragusa (41), Trapani (29), Siracusa (41), Agrigento (27), Caltanissetta (15) , Enna (17).
The situation in Italy
The new Coronavirus bulletin from the Ministry of Health is in line with the data from the previous days with 674 deaths and almost 18,000 new infections from Sars-Cov-2. However, bad news comes from the weekly point of the Higher Institute of Health with a growth in the Rt contagion index that for the first time in weeks grows again with peaks above 1 in Lombardy, Veneto and Lazio (national 0.86 ). These last two regions together with Liguria are certified as high risk. Low-risk ones are Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, and Sicily.
