This is the most prominent piece of information that emerges from today’s newsletter on the Covid situation in Sicily, which the Ministry of Health has just published. The positivity rate decreased: it went from 11.9% 24 hours ago to 10.6%. Today 1,065 new cases were registered on the island (yesterday there were 1,087) of the 9,974 swabs. If on Tuesday there were 14 new admissions to intensive care, today there were 18. To report another 29 victims (2,059 the total since the start of the pandemic).
1,188 people hospitalized with symptoms in Sicily. The total number of people admitted to intensive care is 183 units. Currently, 33,805 people are in home isolation. The total number of people currently positive on the island is 35,176 subjects. Number that makes the total number of coronavirus cases in Sicily jump since the beginning of the pandemic to 81,256. The new healed are 1,829.

Vaccines, 129,000 doses will arrive in Sicily
There are just over 129 thousand doses of the anti-Covid vaccine distributed by Pfizer that will arrive in Sicily. The vaccination campaign in Italy will begin with the first 1,833,975 doses, assuming that in the session of December 21 the EMA approves the placing on the market of the vaccine and the AIFA will be validated almost immediately. This was announced in a note by the extraordinary commissioner for the Covid-19 emergency, Domenico Arcuri.
