Genoa – The braking is clear in what for weeks was the epicenter, which is the territory of Genoa. Not so in the rest of the region, and especially in the Speaker, where the main centers – Sanremo, Imperia, Ventimiglia and Taggia – also in the last week showed an increase in the penetration of coronavirus. The same applies to the interior: in the four provinces of Liguria, including Genoa, the highest spread rates were recorded in the smaller municipalities, where the second wave arrived later but, thanks to the small population, it produces values higher incidence.
The Photography of the epidemiological trend arises from the findings of Alisa, which keeps track of all swabs carried out at local health authorities and communicates positive cases to the population of all territories, organized by postal code. XIX century She further elaborated these data, which are represented by observing the total number of cases per 10,000 inhabitants registered during the week (Alisa, to fix the incidence, considers the average number of daily cases per 10,000 inhabitants).
The look reveals that I the main centers are experiencing a cooling of the epidemic, started with the week ending November 8. The capitals Genoa, La Spezia and Savona appear to have benefited from the containment measures and reached the peak of infection in the last period of the survey. On the contrary, there is the western end, where Imperia was probably also affected by its proximity to France, where the rate of covid-9 was very high, at least until a couple of weeks ago.
Among the largest municipalities, negatively, Taggia and Cairo Montenotte – showing the steepest and most worrying curves – Arenzano, Lavagna and Sestri Levante. Taggia, in particular, shows values even higher than the Genoese peak, with around sixty infections per week per 10,000 inhabitants. Ventimiglia, on the other hand, seems to have reached a plateau, just as the contagion in Sarzana seems to have stabilized. The race slows down in Chiavari, Albenga and Varazze.
In all cases, the imprint of the containment measures is quite evident, that they have become increasingly strict. While taking into account the increasing difficulty of Asl’s prevention departments to track all cases, the sample, which does not take into account positive swabs in health and social facilities – should be considered equally representative. And it seems perceptible the imprint of the initially very soft measures adopted in Liguria from the end of September (the obligation of a mask in Genoa was the first), to arrive at the governmental measures and the introduction, in rapid succession, yellow band and then orange from November 11 for all Liguria.
To fully appreciate the possible additional effect of this latest limitation pack, you will have to wait at least a week. Meanwhile, the snapshot of the infection gives you more curiosities. For example, small and very small centers, for weeks or nearly immune to infection, for obvious reasons, are all marked by cases of Covid-19.
Furthermore, taking into account the criteria used, which take into account the population, the incidence rates are in some cases very high. In the metropolitan city of Genoa the districts of the capital have doubled by small towns: at the top of the ranking are Gorreto and Fascia, followed by Torriglia, Rovegno and Casella.
In the other provinces the picture is similar. In Imperia the highest values are found in the municipalities of Olivetta San Michele, Triora, Bajardo and S. Stefano al Mare. In the territory of Asl 2 the Municipalities of Pallare, Plodio, Zuccarello, Giusvalla and Bormida. Among those managed by ASL 4, however, Coreglia Ligure, Castiglione Chiavarese, Carro and Cogorno. Calice al Cornoviglio, Brugnato, Pignone, Ameglia and Beverino, for their part, are the municipalities with the highest rate of diffusion in the territory of La Spezia.
