Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, 34,612 positive cases have been recorded in Emilia-Romagna, 101 more than yesterday, of which 50 asymptomatic were identified as part of regional contact tracing and detection activities.
The control and prevention activity continues: of the 101 new cases, 46 were already in isolation at the time of the swab execution and 69 were identified in the context of already known outbreaks.
There are 9 new infections related to returns from abroad, for which the Region has provided two nasopharyngeal swabs during fiduciary isolation if they arrive from non-Schengen countries and one swab if they return from Greece, Spain, Croatia and Malta. . The average age of new positives today is 46 years.
Of 50 new asymptomatic patients, 30 were identified thanks to contact tracing, 19 through tests for risk categories introduced by the Region, 1 thanks to pre-hospital screening.
Unfortunately, there is a new death: a 98-year-old man from the province of Modena.
Regarding the situation in the territory, the highest number of cases is registered in the provinces of Bologna (17), Parma (14) and Reggio Emilia (12).
In the province of Bologna, out of 17 new positives, 2 swabs for being a professional category at risk, while 15 cases were detected due to the presence of symptoms.
In Parma and its province there are 14 new positives: 8 after the contact tracing activities, 3 are symptomatic patients, 1 is a case of return from abroad (Romania), 1 returning from another region (Sardinia) while 1 was diagnosed thanks to pre-admission tests.
In the province of Reggio Emilia, out of 12 new positive cases, 6 are attributable to known outbreaks, of which 5 in the family, 3 were diagnosed when returning from abroad (2 from Ukraine, 1 from Morocco), 2 were identified in labor outbreaks, 1 classified as sporadic.
These are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock based on institutional requests – related to the evolution of the epidemic in the region.
The swabs made are 10,061, for a total of 1,110,287. To these, 1,901 serological tests are also added.
Active cases, that is, the number of real patients, are 4,613 to date (20 less than those registered yesterday).
People isolated at home, or those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment, or are asymptomatic, are a total of 4,406 (20 less than yesterday), 96% of active cases. There are 20 (-2 compared to yesterday) patients in intensive care, 187 (+2) hospitalized in other Covid departments.
The total of people cured reached 25,520 (+120 compared to yesterday): 7 “clinically cured”, that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection, and 25,513 those declared completely cured because they were negative in two tests . consecutive.
