SITUATION. The first signs related to the new disturbance will already be seen, the first in 2021 on the night of the party, when the front arriving from France will determine a deterioration in the Northwest, the Alto Tyrrhenian and Sardinia and with some snow at low altitudes. But will be during New Years day that the front will involve a large part of Italy, driven by a deepening depression in the central-western Mediterranean, between the Balearic Islands and Corsica. The low temperatures present in the soil will also favor new snowfall sometimes even on the northwestern plains, however, at quite low altitudes above the rest of the north.
CLIMATE NIGHT OF YEAR. The new disturbance passes through the regions of the North, Sardinia and Tyrrhenian with phenomena that are especially intensified in Liguria, much of Lombardy, western Sardinia, western Emilia, Tuscany and Lazio, also thunderstorms in the Tyrrhenian regions, weaker in Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta. During the day, phenomena that extend towards the northeast, more frequent near the Alpine arch, sporadic or absent in the regions of Lower Veneto and Romagna. Snowfall at low altitudes in the north, sometimes to the plains of Piedmont and western Lombardy but in transformation into rain at sunset, from 800 / 1000m in the central-northern Apennines, but from 300 / 400m in the westernmost Apennines of Emilia. Dry with brilliant spells in the Adriatic, Ionian and South regions, except for some rains that arrive in the afternoon in Ionian Sicily and Calabria.
