On Saturday, October 10, three separate demonstrations are held in Rome, but united by a common feature: the idea that the government has used the threat of Covid to impose a “health dictatorship.”
The demonstrations occur while the data on new infections in our country have grown rapidly again and – as expressed by the Ministry of Health and the Higher Institute of Health – worrying: on Friday, for example, the infections exceeded 5,300, while they were 2,677 on October 6, 3,678 on October 7, 4,458 on October 8.
Who are the “without masks”?
The main event, which is expected to be attended by more than 4500 people, is the so-called “liberation march”, to be held in San Giovanni, also with the support of Rosita Celentano ed Enrico Montesano. There are four keywords: work, income, democracy and sovereignty. One of the organizers, Alessandro gallo, explains: “It is not a demonstration against the obligation of masks”, but also adds that “we are in favor of freedom of therapeutic choice.” As explained above, the demonstration is directed against the so-called “health dictatorship” and against what the organizers call the “political use of Covid”, starting with the state of emergency. Different political positions are mixed in the event: no to multinationals, sovereign currency, a halt to 5G. Among the members are the former 5 stars Sara cunial, the former journalist Rai Fulvio Grimaldi and the “philosopher” Diego Fusaro. The unions of the traffic police of the Ugl of Rome will also be present.
The other two manifestations
In addition to this event, two others are planned: one at the Bocca della Verità, organized by the movement of General Pappalardo, which is expected to attend 100 people; the other in the Plaza Coliseo, conceived by a group of the extreme right, where there should be 300 people.
The directive of the chief of police, Franco Gabrielli
On Friday, Police Chief Franco Gabrielli signed a directive inviting Quaestors to engage in direct talks with the promoters of the “Covid deniers” demonstrations. The demonstrations, the directive explains, will be authorized “as long as they respect the static form, social distancing and the mask.” In the event that the promoters refuse to comply with the anti-Covid19 measures, the demonstrations will not be authorized and the police will have to intervene to dissolve them. The line of rigor towards these demonstrations is shared by the Ministry of the Interior.
