The coronavirus, infections in Sicily fall and the positivity rate also falls: another 43 deaths

New positives fall in the last 24 hours: there are 1,189 compared to the 1,566 registered yesterday. That is what emerges from the bulletin of the Ministry of Health. There were 43 deaths in a single day, this number is also lower than yesterday when it was 47.

There are currently 39,882 infected of which 1,519 are hospitalized, 247 in intensive care (-3 compared to yesterday), 38,116 in home isolation. The cured amount to 20,181 (+347) while the dead to 1,461. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 61,524 people have been infected. In the last 24 hours, 8,777 swabs were made. At the provincial level, the new positives are in Palermo 414, in Catania 315, in Messina 159, in Ragusa 82, in Trapani 67, in Syracuse 76, in Agrigento 2, in Caltanissetta 25 and in Enna 49. The percentage between swabs performed and new positives today is 13.54%, also this figure lower than yesterday (14.72%).

The coronavirus swabs made in Italy in the last 24 hours are 225,940 e the positivity rate is almost 11.7%, also in this case 1.1% less than yesterday. There are 26,323 new cases of coronavirus across the country. There have been 686 deaths in the last 24 hours, for a total of 54,363 victims since the start of the emergency. With those of today, 1,564,532 people have contracted Covid since the beginning of the pandemic, and 21,637,641 the total of swabs made.

Currently, the positives in Italy are 789,308, of which 752,247 are in home isolation. There are 33,299 hospitalized patients with symptoms, of these 3,762 in intensive care. The region with the highest number of new cases is Lombardy with 4,615, followed by Veneto (3,498), Campania (2,729), Emilia-Romagna (2,172), Piedmont (2,157) and Lazio (2,070).
