MASSA-CARRARA – In Tuscany there are 658 more positives than yesterday (398 identified in the course of the screening and 260 from the detection activities) out of a total, since the beginning of the epidemic, of 104,099 units. New cases are 0.6% more than the total of the previous day. The average age of 658 cases today is approximately 52 years (11% are under 20 years, 21% between 20 and 39, 31% between 40 and 59, 20% between 60 and 79 years, The 17% are 80 or older).
Those cured grew by 4.2% and reached 61,225 (58.8% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,578,009, 9,801 more than yesterday, of which 6.7% positive. Today’s positives are 40,201, -4.3% compared to yesterday. There are 1,830 hospitalized (32 less than yesterday), of which 267 in intensive care (11 less).
Today there are 32 new deaths: 18 men and 14 women with an average age of 81 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 5 in Florence, 3 in Prato, 2 in Pistoia, 9 in Massa-Carrara (86 woman, 86 woman, 76 woman, 61 woman, 90 man, 91 man, 93 man, 62 man and 76 woman), 4 in Pisa, 4 in Livorno, 1 in Arezzo, 3 in Siena, 1 in Grosseto. It should be remembered that as of June 24, 2020, the Ministry of Health changed the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated by province of notification, but by province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 29,202 cases in total to date in Florence (149 more than yesterday), 9,133 in Prato (79 more), 9,098 in Pistoia (56 more), 6,558 in Massa-Carrara (42 more: Carrara 16, Massa 21, Aulla 2, Fivizzano 1, Licciana Nardi 1, Villafranca in Lunigiana 1), 10,480 in Lucca (73 more), 14,396 in Pisa (133 more), 7,291 in Livorno (59 more), 9,531 in Arezzo (39 more), 4,205 in Siena (9 more), 3,650 in Grosseto (19 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
There are, therefore, 284 cases found today in the ASL Center (sum of the provinces of Florence, Prato, Pistoia), 307 in the Northwest (Massa Carrara, Lucca, Pisa, Livorno), 67 in the Southeast (Arezzo, Siena , Grosseto).
Tuscany ranks eighth in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 2,791 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average of around 2,653 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 3,544 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,435, Massa Carrara with 3,365, the lowest Siena with 1,574.
In total, 38,371 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (1,793 less than yesterday, less 4.5%). There are 36,983 (520 fewer than yesterday, less 1.4%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance, because they have had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 12,747, Northwest 17,081, Southeast 7,155).
The people admitted to beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 1,830 (32 less than yesterday, less 1.7%), 267 in intensive care (11 less than yesterday, less 4%).
The total number of cured people is 61,225 (2,451 more than yesterday, plus 4.2%): 692 clinically cured (773 less than yesterday, less 52.8%), that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with infection and 60,533 (3,224 more than yesterday, plus 5.6%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with negative swab.
2,673 died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 969 in Florence, 173 in Prato, 204 in Pistoia, 309 in Massa Carrara, 256 in Lucca, 282 in Pisa, 184 in Livorno, 130 in Arezzo, 79 in Siena, 62 in Grosseto, 25 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.
Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 71.7 x 100,000 residents versus 92.1 x 100,000 for the Italian average (10th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa-Carrara (158.6 x 100 000), Florence (95.8 x 100 000) and Pistoia (69.8 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (28.0 x100,000).
THE SITUATION IN ASL TNO HOSPITALS
Regarding hospitalizations for covid-19, in the hospitals of the company in the northwest of the USL Tuscany there are a total of 494 (yesterday there were 502), of which 66 (yesterday were 70) in intensive care. In Livorno hospital 99 patients, 14 of whom in intensive care. At the Lucca hospital 92 patients, of which 17 in intensive care. 96 were admitted to the Apuane hospital (-4 compared to yesterday), of which 19 were in intensive care (-2 compared to yesterday).
