The call to Conte and Franceschini against the closure of cinemas and theaters – Corriere.it

[ad_1]

Dear President Conte, Minister Franceschini, on the intention to close theaters and cinemas explicitly contemplated in the draft of the next Dpcm, and any other fundamental place of culture not yet explicit, in an attempt to avoid its approval that would have dire consequences The entire sector culture and the spirit of citizenship, we draw your attention to the following points: 1) The workers of the live entertainment have made their extraordinary and personal commitment to reopen theaters and cinemas in full compliance with the protocols for the protection of health. They are safe places where the audience sits with a mask and does not speak during the performance. The outlet and inlet are regulated and respect the spacing. These places today represent a virtuous example of the management of public spaces in a pandemic era. 2) We conscientiously win over our audience, often hesitant and confused by fluctuating and anxious communications, to purchase tickets, reassuring them of the certainty of the shows and the scrupulous adoption of all security measures. 3) Regarding the theaters, we have restarted the production activity of the suspended shows, so we once again invest in their reorganization. Furthermore, all coupons issued for shows should be reissued if canceled so as not to overload the theater boxes; 4) We have rescheduled tours, concerts, film premieres, assuming enormous risks, investing and therefore betting on the future, despite the prevailing state of uncertainty; 5) We brought back all Cig employees, guaranteeing them not only a fair salary but above all the dignity of work; 6) The last point on which we require your precious attention is the most important of all: those of us who work in the culture sector are aware of the importance that it is especially in difficult times like the one we are going through.

Serious damage

It would be a serious harm to citizens to deprive them of the possibility of dreaming and being transported far beyond the confines of their daily life. especially because of the importance of not depriving Italy of its collective imagination which we ask of you on behalf of the Associazione Cultura Italiae that I represent, and therefore of all sectors and genres of live entertainment, film producers, artists, exhibitors, of Art Galleries, Museums, Concert Halls, to keep all places of culture open without distinction! We are important to civil society because we support you in your difficult institutional task of keeping the spirits of citizens high, with full awareness of the suffering they experience on a personal, family and professional level. especially in this second wave we would need it the most. The theater and the cinema cannot stop because they are the invisible reserve of meaning for the public and individual life of our fellow citizens.

We protect the visible part of this reserve of meaning. We trust you.
