A Roccapiemonte, SalernoOn September 2, a passerby found the body of a newborn in the hedgerow of an apartment building. The little girl still had the umbilical cord attached and was born a few hours ago. The autopsy, carried out yesterday by the coroner Giuseppe Consalvo, confirmed the first suspicions: the girl was still alive when, this is the hypothesis of the investigators, she was thrown out of the window of an apartment on the second floor. They are rumors, because the official test reports will be published in sixty days. The partial results, however, seem to corroborate the thesis of the prosecutors: the parents did not dispose of the already lifeless body of their daughter, but they would have thrown the little girl while she was still alive. The newborn had a head injury, presumably caused by the fall, and traces of blood on the body. Nearby was a broken branch. She would be thrown out of her parents’ bathroom window and for investigators she would be the dad. A thesis supported by the fact that the couple had just given birth and were therefore still confined to bed. In the morning, the two, Massimo T. and Margherita G., aged 47 and 41 respectively, will be questioned by the investigating judge, who will have to decide on the validation of the detention against them.
Witnesses: “I saw something in the flowerbed, it looked like a doll”
To the Fanpage.it microphones the three people who found the body and sounded the alarm said: “I was going out with my wife, I went to the garage when I saw something in the flower bed. It looked like a toy, a doll. I called my friend who was nearby, I told him to take a look. And he immediately realized it was a boy. Even on television we would not have wanted to hear such news. ” The body had not been dumped on the ground by someone, as witnesses claimed, but was thrown from the second floor of the neighboring building, most likely from the bathroom window of the parents’ apartment, a few hours, perhaps minutes after the birth. And the baby was not yet born dead, but was still alive when she was thrown into the flowerbed below.
