The first shocking news arrived, around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, September 7. A group of boys, in their 20s, disappeared at sea in Albarella. To avoid a tragedy, the perfect coordination between firefighters, port captain and Albarella security personnel.
Two young men were rescued shortly after the alarm, the other two shortly before 8 pm. They were identified thanks to the immediate intervention of the fire department and the port captain’s staff, but also thanks to the immediate activation of the Albarella Island surveillance service, as well as other bathers.
According to the first reconstructions, it all started around 6:45 p.m., when two young people, in their 20s, went swimming, despite the rough sea and the quite high waves. They were soon carried away by the current. They tried to rescue two bathers, themselves caught by the current. A potentially dire situation. Fortunately, the immediate activation of the rescue made the difference: the firefighters, Suem and the harbor captain rushed to the rescue, while the island security guard also did his job, with great professionalism.
Two of the four missing were recovered first, then the other two. Shocked, but in good health, so much so that the ambulance left without carrying anyone.
