Argent. A Covid outbreak developed in the Argenta hospital and the protocols were activated immediately. In the last two days, in fact, 10 patients and 9 operators (among nurses, doctors and oss) positive for Sars-CoV-2 from the Department of Medicine of the Argenta Hospital were notified to the Department of Public Health of the Local Health Authority of Ferrara . .
The patients had no clinical symptoms attributable to Covid. The positivity was found during the scheduled controls performed on patients hospitalized for other pathologies, negative Covid-19 upon entering the ward.
All the patients were immediately transferred (Sunday, November 29) to the Covid medical wards of the Cento hospitals, which received 4 patients, and Delta, which received 6 patients.
Currently, the access of new patients to the Argenta Hospital medical department has been suspended and family visits to patients have been blocked.
It should be noted that the “Surgical Plate” room, which currently acts as a filter for access by internist patients to the emergency services / rooms of the province, continues with its normal activity.
Health workers are periodically examined as a form of detection: the last check-up that medical personnel underwent was carried out during the week of November 23-27. In this periodic review, on November 29, a positive result of the 9 operators mentioned (all other negative operators). The other 8 positives emerged after an additional examination performed on all staff at the medical hospital after the positivity of the patients.
The positive operators (all asymptomatic) were immediately placed in home isolation.
