The new decree approved several curfews in the different regions. How to get the dog out? The list of rules by zones.
From November 6 in Italy there will be a curfew depending on the region of belonging. A system divided into zones: yellow, orange or red; with different rules. And how should we behave to get the dog out?
The rules of the new DPCM
As of Friday, November 6, throughout Italy there will be a curfew from 10pm to 5am, and it will not be the only rule imposed by the latest Ministerial Decree of Premier Conte.
The global health situation due to Covid 19 has worsened, and in Italy we have to face the second wave that is coming, so here are new measures to contain the contagion.
As we can take the dog out after curfew? And what rules should be followed for each region, depending on the area of belonging (yellow, orange, red)?
After days of discussions with the Regions, in fact, the regions were divided into several areas, depending on the severity of the situation and various health aspects.
The regions have been divided as follows as of November 4 (we will update this article if there is any news in the coming weeks):
Regions of yellow zone (moderate criticality)
- Abruzzo;
- Basilicata;
- Campania;
- Emilia Romagna;
- Friuli Venezia Giulia;
- Lazio;
- Liguria;
- Market;
- Molise;
- Bolzano province;
- Province of Trento;
- Sardinia;
- Tuscany;
- Umbria;
- Veneto.
Regions of orange zone (medium / high criticality)
Regions of Red zone (high criticality)
- Calabria;
- Lombardy;
- Piedmont;
- Aosta Valley.
How to get the dog out
Sara possible to take the dog for a walk regularly during the hours not included in the curfew, that is, from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Obviously, conditions such as wearing a mask, washing hands frequently and respecting the rules of distancing between human beings are still mandatory.
After 10 p.m., however, the new rules impose limitations, and it will be necessary to have self-declaration form completed successfully.

For the “red” regions, on the other hand, any type of movement is prohibited at any time of the day, with the exception of requirements or proven work needs.
For the “yellow” and “orange” regions, on the other hand, exemptions will be possible, especially for those who work at night or late into the night, but there will be no strict rules already communicated.

How Self-Certification Works
As for people who have not had time to take the dog out, perhaps because they return too late from work, there are special rules.
Sure, the best would be avoid going out after 10 pm if possible, perhaps organizing the walks first, but if it is essential, we use self-certification.

However, we highlight that, unlike other cases, the legislation for i has not been perfectly clarified owners who take the dog for a walk.
To do this, it is better to be careful and avoid going out if there is no particular need. In any case, it is assumed that as long as we are close to home we should not have any problems.

One final tip
These are some of the latest tips to follow during this period, with our little furry friend always by our side.
Let’s remember:
- Always wear a mask when we are in the park or in the areas dedicated to dogs, covering our nose and mouth well.
- When gathering the needs of our dog, we also use disposable gloves, to avoid coming into contact with any possibly contagious element.
- When returning from the hike, we should never use bleach (not even diluted!) Or other detergents to clean our dog’s paws. We use normal kitchen paper to clean Fido’s legs in case of mud or rain.
- We always throw away disposable gloves and masks upon our return, and let’s wash our hands well. When we leave the house, we always carry a disposable mask and gloves, and disinfectant gel with us.
- Who is positive for the virus you should not leave home for any reason. Better to entrust our furry dog to someone who will take him for a walk for us: a dog sitter, or a trusted friend who has experience with dogs.
- It should not be necessary to remember it, but it is better to emphasize it. Pets do not transmit the coronavirus.
