In fact, the voters of the canton of Ticino approved the initiative ‘For limited immigration’ with 53.1% of the votes in favor and 46.9 against.
Switzerland, therefore, will not again decide for itself which foreigners to accept and which not, having rejected the popular initiative of the People’s Party to abolish the agreement on the free movement of persons with the European Union.
