A dead woman and four injured by an SUV that hit a group of cyclists in the Monforte d’Alba square. The incident took place this afternoon (September 25).
The group (they would be foreign tourists) was in front of a bar in the Langa village, the bar “Da Tino”, in Piazza Umberto I, when they were overwhelmed by the SUV that was arriving at high speed. The car also destroyed part of the outside area of the restaurant.
When the alarm went off, firefighters from Alba and Dogliani intervened, 118 ambulances, rescue helicopters and the carabinieri who took the driver of the car and took to the barracks. The man, who ran the risk of being lynched by the crowd, will be tested to see if he has ingested alcohol or drugs. The wounded were transferred to the Cuneo and Verduno hospitals.
