It happened yesterday at noon: the gesture – a difficult to understand intertwining between dark anguish and infinite despair – had no tragic consequences for a few seconds, a few more moments and there would have been nothing to do.
Yesterday morning the young woman decided to take her own life and expressed this intention. A few minutes before noon she left the house and walked in front of a cemetery in Alta Padovana, where her brother was buried six years ago, dragged down by illness when she was still a teenager.
Without anyone noticing, she strapped herself to one of the iron bars of the entrance gate of the cemetery and fell into the void, closing her eyes. The soldiers were alerted by 118 and rushed to the area: a patrol from the Cittadella Radiomobile was the first to see the twenty-year-old hanging, a few meters from the downtown street.
Without wasting a moment, one of the men with the gun lifted the girl, the other climbed over the gate and cut the belt with a sharp blow. She fainted. The police left her on the ground: completely unconscious, she was revived with cardiac massage and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. They were feverish moments: the worst was feared, but fortunately the young woman recovered. When she opened her eyes she was stunned.
