Marsala – Strasatti, and the city of Marsala as a whole, are moved by the news of the very serious accident that occurred this morning on the SS119 on the stretch of straight just before the old municipal landfill located in the Favara-Rampante district. Two confirmed victims, several minor injuries and one person is still in the operating room where surgeons at Castelvetranese hospital are trying to rescue her from death.
One of the two victims is Strasatti’s health worker, Agostino Ivan Genna, 45, who was aboard the Autoservizi Salemi bus. Ivan had spent the night in the neurosurgery room of the Palermo civic hospital and was returning to Marsala where he lived, in the suburb of Strasatti.
The other victim is the doctor Leonardo Denaro, from Castelvetrano, who was driving the Ford Fiesta that collided with the heavy vehicle. Denaro was heading to Santa Ninfa to serve in the Medical Guard, the dynamics is still under investigation.
From the first rumors it seems that, probably due to illness, the 66-year-old doctor invaded the bus lane and the impact was fatal, then the car ended up on a small cliff.
In addition to the 118 health workers, the Firemen, the coroner Antonino Margiotta, agents of the Traffic Police, Carabineros and agents of the Municipal Police, all from the Castelvetrano detachment.
