As expected, the wave of bad weather that is affecting much of Italy and several areas of Europe has hit hard today also in Trentino.

The storms with strong gusts of wind were registered especially in the afternoon, throughout the territory, including the capital.

Unsurprisingly, with the sharp drop in temperatures, the snow also appeared at unusual altitudes for the season: even up to 1,400 meters, in Bondone.

Paganella was also whitewashed (in the photo taken from the webcams of VisitTrentino, La Roda refuge), as well as other peaks.

In the late afternoon, some flooding and fire brigade interventions were reported to secure power or telephone lines damaged or threatened by violent gusts of wind.

At the moment, the situation seems more serious in South Tyrol, where a tree has also fallen on three cars: fortunately, a child and his mother have been slightly injured.

Currently, it is also snowing in the Brenner Pass (photo below). Passo Rombo was closed for security reasons, while Passo Giovo was closed at night.

In the entire Dolomite and Pre-Alpine area the most marked improvement of the time it’s scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, but already in the morning there should be a progressive attenuation of the phenomena.
