Bad weather gives Italy no respite, especially in the northwest with heavy rain and snow expected up the hill. Civil Protection has issued a yellow alert for seven regions. The notice refers to part of Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Abruzzo and Basilicata, the entire territory of Tuscany, Umbria and the Tyrrhenian side of Calabria. From the early hours of Monday, January 4, scattered rains, showers and thunderstorms are expected over Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna. The phenomena will be of strong intensity with lightning and strong gusts of wind. Snowfall is expected in the interior of Liguria and in Piedmont at altitudes above 300-600 meters and snowfall in Lombardy and northern Tuscany above 700-800 meters. The meteorological situation could get complicated as of Tuesday when a low pressure vortex is expected to bring a new period of bad weather, especially in the northern regions (flat and pre-Alpine areas) and in the Tyrrhenian area.
