TURIN. Bad news for the world of skiing. The plants may not even reopen on January 7, as planned in the current Dpcm. This is because, during the last Christmas Eve meeting, the experts of the Scientific Technical Committee still found several flaws in the Plan that the governors of the interested regions had presented. For this reason, the recovery of skiing seems to be moving away again, despite the fact that in these days in many stations the artificial snow had already begun to be removed. A blow for those who already planned to open the season in two weeks.
For the CTS experts, there would be a few things to review. That is, as they point out: “An important part of the means of ski lifts in ski areas (in particular, gondolas and cable cars) have structural and load characteristics to be assimilated in all respects to the means used for transport. local public (buses, trolleybuses, trams and subways), thus representing a context of medium-high risk of aggregation, with the possibility of high risk at peak hours depending on the classification of the level of contagion risk of the Sars-CoV-2 » And therefore: “Therefore, an effective reorganization of the chairlift system must be considered, which will be combined with collective and individual prevention and protection measures that require, in any case, the active collaboration of users who must continue to implement practice the behaviors planned for in contrast to the spread of the epidemic. “
Regarding the chair lifts: “100% occupation of the chair lifts may be allowed, with the obligation to wear a surgical or community mask and the prohibition of lowering the windshield when it exists.” If the chairlift must be closed with the windbreak down, the capacity must be reduced by 50% with the obligation of the mask, as in cable cars.
Instead, the passes will be sold only by reservation: “That can allow a structured management of the number of users who can actually access the ski areas and related lifts on every day, also through coordination not only (such as it was already planned) with the representatives of the category and the competent health authorities, but also with the representatives of the accommodation establishments ”.
For CTS, more clarity is also needed to avoid lines on plants. In short, specific measures will have to be sought “in all those situations in which the verification of the travel document throughout the day cannot be carried out without contact, especially at the foreseeable times of greatest influx.”
Silvia Fregolent, MP for Italia Viva also intervened in the case: “Nobody thinks that the situation is easy but we must face things rationally. CTSs confront the technicians of the industry and try to find a smart solution. And when it comes to soft drinks, Italy copies 50% of the turnover of the three previous years of the French model and not the poor proposals cut to date. It must be understood that if mountain territories are deprived of the main economic resource, winter skiing, they are condemned to decline and abandonment.
