Tragedy in Massa: Malak Lassiri, one of the two sisters killed by a tree while camping was a promise of judo. The family of Moroccan origin was on vacation at the “Verde Mare” campsite in Partaccia, Marina di Massa, when a tornado uprooted a tree that collapsed in the store where a 3-year-old girl slept, her 14-year-old sister, both dead, and the other 19-year-old sister who was slightly injured.

The tragedy that affected the family of Moroccan origin who was camping in Massa Carrara shocked everyone. If Jannat Lassiri lost her life, the little girl would have turned 3 next November, who died instantly and her 14-year-old sister, Malak Lassiri, a promise of judo.

Malak Lassiri, a student at the Jigoro kano martial arts school in Turin, had achieved excellent results in his category. Malak wanted to follow in the footsteps of his older sister, who qualified for regional youth judo competitions with the same sports club. The Malak school Facebook page posted a bow on his profile picture as a sign of mourning.

After the tree collapsed, Malak was taken to Apuane hospital for resuscitation, but there was nothing to do, the injuries were too serious. The 9-year-old brother, 19-year-old sister and parents, who were unharmed, also ended up in the hospital. The family, originally from Casablanca but living in Turin, had been in Marina di Massa for a week to spend their holidays by the sea.
