(ANSA) – PISTOIA, SEPTEMBER 17 – A man commits suicide by jumping from a bridge over the mountains of Pistoia, then the carabinieri discover that his wife was murdered at her home in Vaiano (Prato), more than 60 km away. Therefore, a probable homicide-suicide case. The reason would be attributable to disagreements between the two but according to evaluations by other researchers, the fact that the man was out of work would have been one of the causes of the couple’s discomfort. The victims are Leonardo Santini, 50, unemployed, and Claudia Corrieri, 38, employee of a beauty center. The couple have a very young daughter who was with her grandparents. The man threw himself from the Mammiano suspension bridge, near S. Marcello Pistoiese, a pedestrian walkway over the Lima stream that at its highest point exceeds 30 meters and on other occasions the scene of suicides. The discovery of the man suggested a similar case, but investigations to trace his family led the police to discover that his partner had been killed with a sharp weapon. (HANDLE).
