The four young people arrested in. Following the incident, in shock, the two girls called ambulance 118 and underwent appropriate treatment at the Madonna delle Grazie hospital in Matera, from where they were discharged. Police investigations began immediately, by agents from the Pisticci police station and the investigation unit of the Matera Police Headquarters.
As part of the investigations, several people informed about the events were heard and surveillance camera footage of the town, which framed the phases immediately previous and immediately successive sexual violence, thus providing undoubted feedback to the victims’ stories.
