The Giallorossi win 4-2 with goals from Veretout, Perotti, Mkhytarian and Antonucci. Between national (13) and positive in Covid (4), sentences postponed. But Gonzalo as an offensive midfielder impressed him well
Without 17 players (13 in the national team and 4 out for the coronavirus, although Mirante has resumed training with his teammates) it certainly could not have been a reliable test.
So much so that, in fact, Roma decided to change opponents, from Benevento to Sambenedettese. After all, it was a good trip, the first of Fonseca’s new Rome. In the end, the Giallorossi beat the Marches 4-2 (goals from Veretout, Perotti, Mkhitaryan and Antonucci, for the guests a double penalty from Maxi López), although in the second half they really played Primavera. For Fonseca in the first 45 ‘of the game some good answers, one above all: Gonzalo Villar, a little good in everything he was doing in the unusual position of attacking midfielder, showing desire and personality.
First tastings
–
In the first half, despite the absences, Fonseca manages to line up a decent eleven. On the other hand, however, Paolo Montero’s team relies mainly on Maxi López, the most representative player of his troop. In the first minutes he seems almost paralyzed, so much so that he concedes two goals in just nine minutes (Veretout at 4 ‘, Perotti at 9’). Calafiori pushes well to the left, Mkhitaryan already seems to turn at an interesting pace (although he eats a sensational goal), but to steal the show Villar is above all, deployed behind the two forwards (Micki and Perotti, although sometimes one, ) sometimes the other, they go down to double the offensive midfielder). The Spaniard manages some balls well and also stands out in a couple of valuable coast-to-coast lines, the second of which is Mkhitaryan’s 3-1 (31 ‘). However, it is behind Roma that it costs them a bit, so much so that in the 2-0 first Maxi López then Nocciolini devour the sensational goals. Samb then manages to pass a penalty (25 ‘) for a penalty awarded for a naive foul by Fazio, who then makes the pair in the 42nd minute for a foul by Karsdorp this time. In both cases, Maxi López goes to the place and scores both penalties on a photocopy.
Another story
–
The game really ends here, because in the second half Fonseca changes the whole team, sending all the young players on the field to the field and leaving the guidance to Primavera coach Alberto De Rossi. The Sambendettese at 8 ‘also plays the same thing (Occhiato’s pole), but in reality it is Roma that passes at 22’, the one that scores 4-2 with Antonucci, well closing with a tap-in a rampant downhill right for Deer. And the offensive winger of Giallorossi, born in 2002, was a sweet surprise, who had also scored in the friendly lost 2-1 at Viterbese earlier in the week. Before the end there is still room for one post each: first Facundo Lescano’s for the Sambenedettese head, then Seck’s from inside the area for the Giallorossi. It ends 4-2, but real Roma will only be able to see it from September 10, when all the teams will return.
