The self-service was closed, those responsible yesterday, despite the holidays, were working with the aim of reopening as soon as possible. “The firefighters intervened immediately, says the owner and assured us that the machine worked perfectly, it was not a fault attributable to the dryer. Rather, the fact that the laundry has been left inside the machine, with the drum still very hot. If the cloths are cotton, no problem. On the contrary, if it is synthetic fibers you have to take off your clothes. We don’t know exactly what kind of materials it contained. The laundry works independently, everyone does it themselves. There is also the hypothesis that perhaps a plastic object had been forgotten in the pockets of the clothes, that it came into contact with the hot metal.
With warm clothes on it could have been like putting a piece of wood on top of smoldering embers, the trigger would have been activated quite easily. Photos of the damaged dryer yesterday circulated on social media. At first a rumor spread that some vandal had thrown a firecracker at him, causing an uproar. Unanimous outrage, then came back when it was confirmed that it was an accident, quite curious.
