Everything seemed ready. Or so it had to be. And instead, just 5 days after the start of the school year, a circular appeared on the school’s website informing parents of theFabiola comprehensive school in Monteverde that includes 6 complexes – for a total of 1250 students – that their children will be able to return to classes only on September 24: that is, one week after the scheduled date.
School, postponement of hypothesis to Lazio: mayors can choose not to reopen on 14
ROME The hypothesis of an exception to the reopening of the 14th for the Municipalities of the year appears, although the government assures that the recovery roadmap is confirmed. So much so that today Giuseppe Conte himself will confirm the program, which has called a press conference together with the ministers Azzolina, Speranza and Boccia.
“After the start of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance interventions in the offices of Largo Ravizza, Oberdan and Trastevere schools, Cesana-Bezzi-Parboni schools – the statement reads – and there was an emergency in the headquarters building in via Fabiola, which involved the temporary placement of secondary school students at the Franceschi elementary school headquarters, we inform you that the opening of the school has been postponed to September 24 in order to achieve adequate times for the reestablishment of hygienic and organizational measures planned for the start of the ‘year in security’.
Families are on the warpath. “It is amazing that they did not even deign to send us an email and publish a circular on the school’s website – says Cristina Giorgi – After 6 months of closure and with the families who no longer have vacations and permits they have thought it appropriate to inform us only today of this abrupt change ».
The Fabiola comprehensive school is a great reality: it has 8 kindergarten classes, 15 primary and 15 secondary. Many Mondays they will appear in front of the school convinced that it will open because no one has informed the families directly.
But this is not the only case in which a school has decided to postpone opening. too the comprehensive institute Parco della Vittoria, which includes Leopardi Primary School and Belli Secondary School in Piazza Mazzini, will not reopen on September 14. And there is no official date yet. Reason? There are no desks, teachers, school collaborators. “To date, single-seat desks have not arrived yet, not even the ones we ordered in July, writes the principal on the school website, we still have too many free chairs (teachers who need to be appointed with procedures that do not belong to the school), so we will have to limit teaching hours, we must appoint many support teachers, very few school employees are on call, the usual maintenance interventions planned for the beginning of the school year must still be carried out, the staff of the Secretariat is still incomplete, we do not know if and which teachers will have the right to be absent because they belong to the category of “fragile.” For all that I have exposed (and certainly some aspects have been escaped) I cannot give you guarantees of full operation, at least in these first weeks.
In many institutes we start halfway, as inRenato Fucini comprehensive school of Montesacro where the children of classes II and III of secondary school will do only 3 hours of daily lessons, alternating with the morning and afternoon shifts, while those of III, IV and V of primary school will even go to school every other day No.
Two days ago, 22 school directors wrote a long letter to the Lazio Region and the Regional Office of Schools, arguing point by point with all the critical problems facing schools, signed by the institutions of Municipality 10 and Fiumicino: from Enriques to Giulio Verne and Anco Marzio, from the Instituto Integral Mozart, to Vivaldi and Alessandro Magno, from Tullia Zevi to the Instituto Lido del Faro.
