School: the Minister of Education Lucia azzolina at 2:00 p.m. at the hearing at the Education and Culture Commission of the Camera spoke of the allocation of Recovery Fund resources.
In particular, the minister focused onschool building where you want to aim, as Azzolina herself has repeatedly stressed and as required by the health emergency, the elimination of “chicken coop classes”. Therefore, the minister asks that most of the resources of the Recovery Fund go to the school.
The opening of schools on September 14 (others will open tomorrow in the south) has been quite conflictive between the new rules and the missing teachers.
Not only is the school contest still being debated and the opposition has requested the postponement. Let’s see what Minister Azzolina said about the school at the hearing in the Chamber.
School: Recovery Fund for School Construction
The main point of the school that Azzolina touched on at the hearing concerns the school buildings and the Recovery Fund should be set aside for this. The head of Miur stated:
“70% of the Recovery Fund will be deployed by 2021 and 2022, while 30% will need to be invested by 2023. With European funds we will try to eliminate chicken coop classes and improve key skills for quality education.”
And the tenant of Viale Trastevere continued:
“The school must above all be safe. I cannot hide the fact that, with not a few difficulties, important allocations have been restarted in recent months which must now undoubtedly be strengthened and merged into a multi-year comprehensive plan for the efficiency and modernization of school buildings. This plan must also include new buildings, built according to the principles of educational innovation, as well as energy and environmental sustainability ”.
And I add:
“To achieve all the objectives that I have outlined, it is necessary that a substantial part of the resources available within the Recovery Fund be allocated to the Education chapter. This is a commitment that the Government and Parliament cannot fail to share because the future of the country depends on the school ”.
The minister stressed that the Recovery Fund is a unique opportunity that should not be wasted. It is important for Azzolina that school and education return at the center of the country’s care and interests.
In the audience he underlined how between the various objectives there is the increase of “The key competences for lifelong learning, in particular language skills, facilitate access to quality education regardless of the socioeconomic context to which they belong, counteracting the phenomenon of early school leaving”.
