Fatal accident, last night, around 11:30 p.m., a few hundred meters from the Quiliano-Vado Ligure station, in the province of Savona, on the Genoa-Ventimiglia railway line. A group of about ten people, made up of migrants, wanted to cross the tracks or walk along the railway (perhaps towards the border with France) and was run over by a regional train leaving from Savona and directed to Ventimiglia.
Two people from the group died and at least eight others were injured. The driver stopped the convoy and immediately raised the alarm: the police, carabinieri and some ambulances rushed in in no time, taking the injured to the San Paolo hospital in Savona. To participate in the rescue, the mayor of Quiliano, Nicola Isetta, also arrived, along with some volunteers from Civil Protection.
