The first step at 5.49 in the morning while it was still dark. Then the images of 7 with sunlight. The bridge was closed exactly two years ago. Some queues logged during rush hour for cars in both directions.
It was the night between September 14 and 15, 2018 when the technicians decided to surprise and in a hurry to close the San Michele bridge, which connects Calusco and Paderno by crossing a gorge of the Adda river, judging it dangerous. Since then the extraordinary maintenance works, then on March 29, 2019 the reopening first to pedestrians and bicycles, then on November 8 also to car traffic. Today the expected reopening also for trains with ad hoc schedule
. A breath of fresh air for rail traffic and for travelers in Bergamo that I can now trust again, albeit to a limited extent, from the director Bergamo-Milan via Carnate.
Some problems with vehicular traffic occurred during rush hours. But it was foreseeable, given that during the transit of convoys, the passage of cars is inhibited, the traffic light on the road above turns red and vehicles, in both directions of travel, must stop.
