After fighting for more than a year against cancer, Ted Lloyd died. The actor was 56 years old and had achieved great popularity by playing Ted Buckland, the submissive star lawyer for Scrubs. The actor, Christopher Lloyd’s grandson, had recently become the father of a girl. The cancer had spread rapidly and his conditions immediately seemed very serious even though his wife and producer Tom Hobert had started a fundraiser to guarantee the actor the best medical expenses.

But Scrubs, thanks to more than 90 recited episodes, remains its most successful title. Bill Lawrence, creator of the series, wrote on Twitter: Today I think of Sam Lloyd. He was really a kind and sweet person. Many will miss you. Robert Maschio, his partner on set, remembered him as the kindest man I have ever met, a definition shared by Zach Braff, who also defined him as the funniest actor I have ever worked with.
