If the contagion index Rt does not fall, the Lazio runs the risk of becoming red zone before christmas. The warning was issued by Lazio’s health advisor Alessio D’Amato: the next two weeks will be decisive to understand if the measures of semi-lock as in Milan.
What worries is not so much the new cases (the number of infections in Lazio remains constant), but the situation in the hospitals. As D’Amato points out, the pressure in the hospital network, which touches almost 3,000 hospitalizations, continues to be high, and it is essential to cool down the infection curve and maintain maximum rigor in behavior.
The coronavirus bulletin in Lazio today November 12 reports 2,686 positive cases (+207), 49 deaths (+11) and 301 recovered (-143), while the ratio between swabs performed and positive remains around 9%. Hospitalizations amount to 2,953 (+40), and there are a total of 259 patients in intensive care (+4).
Of the 49 deaths, the highest number of Covid deaths in a single day in Lazio since the start of the pandemic, 25 are in Rome, 11 in the Roman province and 13 in the rest of the cities.
Rome: the new restrictions for the weekend
the Lazio is still the yellow zone for now, but as is happening in other regions and cities, it is preparing to have anti-harvest measures for the weekend. Waiting for Zingaretti’s order that could provide the closing of the maxi stores (2,500 square meter structures) on the days leading up to holidays and public holidays (excluding grocery stores, tobacconists, newsstands and pharmacies), and closing of markets they don’t sell groceries on vacation.
By Rome During the summit in the Prefecture, the Provincial Committee for Order and Security decided to close and limit access to shopping streets:
- Via del Corso
- Trident area
- via Cola di Rienzo
- via Ottaviano
- Viale Giulio Cesare
- via Candia
In these areas will be 4 manned entrances by the Local Police, Civil Protection and the forces of order, and to avoid overcrowding in the streets. But that’s not all: on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 am to 8 pm, the Spagna and Flaminio metro stations close.
At parks and in the villages the police on horseback will watch and make sure that no concentrations are formed.
On Friday, November 13, the ordinance issued by Mayor Raggi for the closing the squares nightlife at 21, but it is very likely to expand. The arrangement refers to Campo de ‘Fiori, Piazza Trilussa in the staircase area, Piazza Madonna dei Monti and the pedestrian areas of via del Pigneto and via Pesaro. The fine for offenders ranges from 400 euros to 1,000 euros depending on the severity of the offense.
About Ostia and the Lazio coast, the historic villas and parks, assaulted at the weekend also thanks to the sunny and mild climate of these days, will come tight controls: the intention would be to shoot down more patrols in the street, equipped with anti-crowd megaphones.
Among the proposed proposals also the one to impose the alternating plate circulation in Rome on weekends, to limit the masses of people both in the city and towards the sea. However, this hypothesis is excluded for this weekend, since on Sunday November 15 in Rome there is a traffic blockade for the ecological Sunday.
