The situation in Emilia Romagna

In Emilia-Romagna there were 2,127 more cases than on Thursday, out of a total of 10,861 smears performed in the last 24 hours (in addition to these 262 serological tests and 2,500 rapid smears). The percentage of new positives on the number of tampons manufactured since Thursday is 19.6%. The control and prevention activity continues: of the newly infected, 976 are asymptomatic identified as part of the regional contact tracing and detection activities. Overall, 469 of the new positives were already isolated at the time of swab execution, 700 were identified within known foci.

The average age of new positives on Friday is 47.2 years. Of the 976 asymptomatic, 502 were identified through contact tracing, 107 through tests by risk categories introduced by the Region, 21 through serological tests, 10 through pre-hospital tests. The epidemiological investigation is still ongoing for 336 cases. The contagion situation in the provinces sees Bologna with 458 new cases; followed by Modena (363), Rimini (235), Ravenna (194), Reggio Emilia (168), Cesena (156), Ferrara (155), Piacenza (124). Then the province of Parma (124), then Imola (76) and finally Forlì (74). As for the total of people cured, they are 381 more than on Thursday and reach 96,910. Active cases, that is, actual patients, on Friday are 58,980 (+1,681 compared to Thursday). Of these, people in isolation at home, or those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are asymptomatic, are a total of 56,063 (+1,683), 95% of all active cases.

Unfortunately, 65 new deaths are registered: 8 in Piacenza (4 women, respectively 58, 68, 72 and 86 years; 4 men aged 55, 70, 72, 79 years), 3 in the province of Parma (all women: 78, 91 and 99 years), only one case in the province of Reggio Emilia (a 76-year-old man); 10 in the Modena area (6 women – one 68, one 85, one 87, one 94, one 96 and one 97 – and 4 men, two 80, one 87 and one 88 years old ); 16 in the province of Bologna (9 women – 78, 80, 82, 85, 86, two 89, one 90 and one 96 – and 7 men: one 47, one 69, two 79 years, the other 82, 90 and 99 years respectively); 9 in the province of Ravenna (7 women – 80, 89, 92, 93, 94 and two of 95 – and 2 men, respectively 72 and 91 years old ;; 15 in the Rimini area: 5 men (61, 82, 84 and two of 92 years) and 10 women (respectively, 81, 84, 90, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 99 and 101). There are no deaths in the Ferrara area. In total, since start of the epidemic there were 7,400 deaths in the region, 206 patients admitted to intensive care (+5 compared to Thursday), 2,711 in the other Covid departments (-7).
