Roma, carabiniere kills a thief during a robbery attempt. A 56-year-old man died

These are precisely the moments that could have happened to the carabiniere who shot and killed Jalal Badawi with a service pistol on Sunday night, hit by a shot fired by a soldier after seeing his colleague being hit in front of his eyes in the chest with a large screwdriver.

The thief died on the spot, the wounded carabiniere, a 31-year-old young man from the Nucleo Radiomóvil in Rome, was transported by ambulance 118 to Sant’Eugenio hospital, after being hit with a long screwdriver on the right chest. Medicated, the soldier was discharged with a 7-day prognosis.

The events took place on the night from Saturday to Sunday in a building in via Paolo Di Dono, between the areas of Vigna Murata and Roma 70, in the area of ​​Ardeatino. Identified in Jalal Badawi, the 56-year-old Syrian was homeless, but appears to have lived in an occupied building in the Ostia area. Already known to the police, the victim had a criminal record for robbery, injury and evasion and was burdened by an expulsion decree.
