“We still have to keep our distance, wear masks, wash our hands, but it is not forever: after autumn and winter we will see the light,” said Health Minister Roberto Speranza in an interview with the Republic in which he explained that “a cure and a vaccine for Covid are near” and that is why it is about “resisting another six months.” In this regard, he recalled that the EU is buying a package of vaccines “6 + 1, Astra Zeneca is one of six and is in the most advanced stage.”

Upon returning to school, Speranza asks that the “useless polemics” end because “it is not a problem for Minister Azzolina but for all of us.” “We have done more than in other European countries, nobody believes that the situation is perfect, we do not have a magic wand and the problems of the Italian school do not arise with Covid. But there are unprecedented resources, we are trying to invest in staff and school equipment, we will give 11 million masks a day to everyone for free ”.

Regarding the possible reduction of the quarantine to seven days, the minister is cautious: “We are evaluating, we will listen to the CTS first and we will also discuss with other European countries.”
