A hiker recovered unharmed, while a 36-year-old man lost his life sliding down a waterproof canal
MANDELLO – Tragedy in Grignone where a 36-year-old man lost his life in a mountain accident. The lifeguards had been alerted on Sunday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m., for two people in difficulty in the area of Prada bocchetta, among the municipalities of Mandello me Esino Lario.
A 36-year-old living in the Milan area lost his life after sliding down a waterproof channel. The brother who was with him raised the alarm. About fifteen technicians from the Valsassina Valvarrone Station, XIX Lariana Delegation; the speleological rescue technicians of the IX Regional Delegation, since from the first information there was the possibility that the accident had occurred in circumstances that required their presence.
The Como di Areu (Regional Emergency and Emergencies Agency) helicopter rescue service is also on site. The body of the young man was identified and recovered from the helicopter after the death was found. The other hiker unharmed.
