As part of a police service aimed at combating the phenomenon of waste abandonment, the promptness of the operators made it possible to arrest a 69-year-old reggio in the act of illegal combustion of waste. In particular, during the night, near the dirt road adjacent to the general markets of San Gregorio, the guard agents noticed a person unloading a large amount of waste from his truck, forming a large pile, which he set on fire by lighting a trigger.
The police officers immediately intervened to arrest and identify him, while requesting the help of the Fire Brigade to tame the flames, which quickly spread through the surroundings, and the staff of the local Regional Scientific Police Cabinet to make the relevant findings. The man was arrested and, as a result of a personal search, he was found in possession of 4 lighters, which were seized along with 2 screwdrivers, 2 kitchen knives and the truck used to transport the waste. At the disposal of the competent judicial authority, the detainee was transferred to his home under house arrest, pending the very direct rite, which ended with the validation of the arrest. The prompt intervention of the attentive agents of the State Police made it possible to avoid more serious consequences for public health, due to the danger generated by the fumes for the inhabitants of the houses near the intervention area, as well as the contamination of the stream waters that flows into the near the site affected by the event.
