The national health emergency caused by the Covid 19 virus pandemic is still ongoing, and the recent regulatory requirements dictated by the Prime Minister’s Decree of November 3, 2020, for the containment of the spread of the virus, are aimed at limiting the increase in the number of infected.
The rules of the Prime Minister’s Decree impose on all persons the obligation to carry personal protective equipment and to use it when the condition of personal isolation is not guaranteed, and establish the prohibition, in the regions defined as “red zone”, such as Calabria any transfer that is not verified due to work needs, situations of need or health reasons.
The police forces, called to guarantee compliance with these provisions, in the event of violations, will proceed to impose the administrative sanctions provided for in art. 4 DL 19/2020 (for citizens, failure to comply with the assembly prohibitions and the prescriptions regarding interpersonal distance and the obligation to use personal protective equipment, implies the imposition of the administrative sanction of the payment of a fine of 400 to 3,000 euros).
This is even more true in the case of public events, permitted pursuant to art. 1 co. 9 lett. i of the Prime Minister’s Decree “only statically, provided that the prescribed social distances and other containment measures are respected”, with respect to which participants who do not comply with the provisions of the law will be identified later.
With this in mind, this morning, in the performance of specifically prepared services, 44 sanctions were imposed and the owner of an illegally opened game room was sanctioned.
The controls will also be intensified in the afternoon today and in the coming days, since at this delicate moment it is essential to contain the spread of the pandemic contagion, and it is not possible to adopt an attitude of tolerance in situations of overcrowding, and consequent overcrowding of people . streets and squares of the city.
The adoption of these measures, far from being an instrument of control and / or limitation of citizens’ freedom, responds to the primary objective of guaranteeing the protection of public health, at a time when the health emergency is still ongoing. and it is absolutely necessary that everyone adopt an attitude of deep responsibility in social behavior.
