In recent days, the State Police arrested AMBROGGIO Candeloro, 47, for the robbery carried out on the afternoon of August 3, 2020 within the clothing and household business “K2 Store” in Pellaro, in execution of the order. of application of precautionary measures in prison no. 3874/2020 RGNR, no. 2051/2020 RGGIP and nr. 219/2020 ROCC, issued on September 1, 2020 by the Preliminary Investigative Judge of the Reggio Calabria Court, at the request of the Public Ministry directed by the Prosecutor Dr. Giovanni Bombardieri.
The investigation activity was initiated by the Flying Squad – under the directives of the Deputy Prosecutor Dr. Gerardo Dominijanni and the Deputy Prosecutor Dr. Domenico Cappelleri – immediately after the culmination of the criminal act, in synergy with the first intervention of the General Office of Prevention and public assistance of the Police Headquarters.
In the course of extensive investigations, investigators from the Mobile Squad Generalized Crime Section acquired footage from both the commercial video surveillance system DVR and cameras located near the aforementioned business exercise.
The analysis of the images revealed that the act of predation was perpetrated by a subject with his face covered by a baseball cap and a mask used for the current epidemiological emergency, who, after entering the shop, initially pretended some minutes to wait her turn at the house, and subsequently she took out a semi-automatic pistol from her purse and pointed at the orders. Once they, scared, crouched on the ground, the man passed by the counter and, after repeatedly asking for the payment, forced a saleswoman, pointing the gun at him, to open the cash register from which he extracted the sum of about 1000 euros. that he took out of business by walking away quickly.
Based on the elements collected in the course of the investigations, the author of the theft was referred to the local Public Ministry, which, by virtue of the seriousness of the circumstance and the existence of precautionary needs, requested and obtained from the Preliminary Investigating Judge the precautionary measure of custody. in prison which was carried out on September 3, 2020 by the Flying Squad policemen.
At the end of the procedures, the detainee was transferred to the local prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
