Reggio Calabria, another teacher writes to Falcomatà asking to annul the ordinance that closes all schools in the city on September 24, 25 and 26
“Dear Mr. Mayor, I have always had respect for you. I write to you in light of news of the closure of schools that adopted today with a specific ordinance and I can also understand and share the need to be able to postpone the start of the lessons for a few days in the complexes that are the headquarters of the voting station, to allow carefree sanitation operations. What I don’t understand is why the ordinance has been extended to all those schools that are not polling stations, like the one I teach at. We have everything prepared to inaugurate a very special and delicate school year, we have already committed to celebrate the return to school of our children with a small special event on September 24. We have spent days and nights of sacrifice and effort to be prepared in all aspects, in light of the new and rigorous anti-contagion regulations. Why postpone one more week, we who are already clearly behind the rest of Italy? How will we complete our programs if, between possible quarantines, weather alerts and who knows what else, we know that this year will be difficult and battered? I invite you to modify the ordinance, limiting it to the schools that are the seat of the voting station. It is not possible to understand extending the closure to all the others because here what should we sanitize if everything is ready for the opening of the 24th? Thank you very much if you would like to consider my request.“.
This was expressed by a teacher from a Reggio school in a public letter (signed) sent to the press at the address of Mayor Falcomatà.
Reggio Calabria, a teacher wrote to Falcomatà: “Senseless postponement of school, what will you do in case of voting? Are we home until November? Please think again “
