There is no precise date yet, but it is already known that the refund of the Christmas version of the cashback will be paid in February of next year. The only condition is to have communicated the Iban at the end of this year. However, it must be said that this is not a real communication, as the coordinates are already required during registration.

Despite the inefficiencies of the December 8 debut, for example, those who enabled cashback through the “private” application Satispay could already see their Iban in the Io application, which is the “official” application of the public administration. A movement made by 30% of the 1.4 million users of Satispay, according to the company.

Slightly different, however, is the case of those who had already registered a payment method in the Io application (for example, a credit card) with which they paid the PagoPa invoices: in these situations, several users were able to activate the cashback and they entered the ‘Iban, but then he had to stop in front of the message: “The Portfolio section is under maintenance.”

Will purchases from December 8 be counted?

The doubt will not be so much about the Iban that the State will use for the reimbursement, but about the possibility of counting (or not) the purchases made from December 8 and until the complete normalization of the service. According to the basic rules of Christmas cashback, in fact, you must reach the minimum threshold of ten transactions between December 8 and December 31. But in the Faq we read: “Purchases made from 00:01 on the day after the activation of your payment methods will be counted for reimbursement purposes.”

Therefore, those who managed to register and activate the payment method on December 8 (for example, a debit card) could consider purchases made after December 9. While those who had previously activated a certain payment method -because they were already using Satispay or the Io application for PagoPa- and enabled cashback last weekend, they will also be able to post purchases on December 8, despite the inefficiencies. This is confirmed by the notice of 16.29 of December 8 inserted in the Io application: “If you have activated the cash back methods, the relevant transactions valid for the purposes of the program will still be recorded.” On the other hand, the same Faq warns that it can take up to three days to see the operations carried out within the Io application.
