Red alert in Sardinia for a new wave of bad weather that arrives from tonight and that will last at least until Saturday and Sunday.
Experts from the Decimomannu Air Force meteorological office report this, predicting a drop in temperatures of at least five degrees accompanied by rain and storms.
In the central Tyrrhenian Sea, meteorologists say, there is already a disturbance coming from the Balearic Islands that will take over the island from tonight and throughout the day tomorrow.
That is why Civil Protection evaluated a red alert for hydrogeological risk in the Montevecchio – Pischilappiu and Tirso Basins and an orange alert in the rest of the island’s areas.
On Friday the disturbance will move towards the Tyrrhenian area, but the rains will continue to affect Sardinia, especially in the first part of the day.
“Starting today afternoon off the western coasts of Sardinia, the storms that will reach the island during the night will be visible – experts explain – the area between Alghero and Teulada, passing through Oristano, will be particularly affected by rains and thunderstorms and the entire western side of the region, while the rest of the island will cover the sky ”.
Temperatures will drop: “The thermometer will drop about 5 degrees and stop at about 27-28 degrees – they announce – Thursday will be the heaviest day from a meteorological point of view. The bad weather will last until the weekend, when there will be a light and slow improvement, even though the sky is partially covered. ”
On Sunday, therefore, temperatures will rise again, but storms may occur in the afternoon.
