(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 18 – “Salvini and Meloni say incredible things. I find it really shameful that after having underestimated viruses, having given bad examples saying that the virus does not exist, that we should not wear masks, now come to tell us something so absurd. ” Economy Minister Roberto Gualtieri said this to Omnibus on La7 in response to statements by opposition leaders against Italy’s use of participation in loans from the recovery fund.
“To say ‘I prefer to have less money than more money, more taxes and less services’, to continue saying nonsense because in the past I have said that ‘Europe sucks’ is absurd,” said the minister in reference to Salvini’s statements in favor of a debt on the market, rather than through the “zero” loan recovery fund.
“I see a certain shame, Salvini and Meloni, after a campaign in which they said that the future is to move away from Europe, now they do not have great arguments,” said Gualtieri, underlining that there will be “savings of tens of billions” for him. Only the fact that EU loans will cost Italy much less than financing them on the market. (HANDLE).
