Governor Acquaroli, three ordinances in less than a month, including the decision to close the high school with dad 100%. His council is a race against time.

«It is a race against the deficiencies found in the socio-sanitary profile. We have to face a system that has been deconstructed by a reform that has dismantled peripheral aid, which does not take into account the medicine of the territory but focuses on the centralization of services. Instead, today we are faced with aemergency pandemic that leads to options contrary to what has been done so far.

He says it often: Covid has shown all the fragility of this approach.

“Because with the Coronavirus the real game is played with Usca, tampons and territorial medicine. A health resistance that aims to avoid hospitalization where it is not strictly necessary.

How much do you fear the health system in the Marche region in the face of the second pandemic wave?

“I am deeply concerned, although to date the Marks are not among the high-risk regions and infections, while increasing, are not completely out of control. But yes, I am afraid that the infectious disease wards will fill up, there are no specialized personnel in intensive care and the intensive care beds have not yet been strengthened, except for the 44 that we have managed to recover with a great commitment within a few days. That is why, despite the data, I continue to emphasize the need to scrupulously respect all anti-contagion regulations.

The transition from 24-hour masks to distance learning for high school makes clear how much risk of a dramatic evolution is just around the corner. However, he never considered the hypothesis of a temporary blockage. Why?

“Closing everything means telling the people of Marche who have a business to stay at home, but with the guarantee of cooling off. The Region does not have these resources, especially we are still far from Phase 4, the most dramatic. The curve is growing, but in some hospitals we can guarantee ordinary services. With the measures put in place we try to stop infections and buy time to boost all the medicines in the area.

Are you considering extreme measures for return mail?

“Eventually we will discuss new Red Zones, but I don’t think a full closure of a couple of weeks will be effective at this time.”

In recent days there has been a protest under the Palazzo della Regione, in Pesaro a restaurateur has kept it open despite the bans. Are you afraid of a social reaction in this scorching climate at the national level?
“The closures can generate tensions, not so much of a political nature, but because of the uncertainty they generate and the consequent economic crisis. We have a duty to protect the economic system by keeping the health emergency under control. We are constantly updated on the evolution of the pandemic in the region and we are ready to take all possible measures if the situation gets out of control.

Another offense against the sport is being evaluated. What else?

«The hypothesis, still under discussion, is to prohibit training where it is still carried out. And on Monday (tomorrow, ed) we will try to understand with the regional structure if other initiatives can be considered. But between the measures dictated by the Dpcm and the ordinances, in the absence of a dramatic situation, we will continue like this ”.

Also among the hypotheses: the closure of first cycle schools?

“I don’t see the need to do it. We have said that the problem is not schools, it is not sports activities, it is not restaurants or gyms. The problem is in the fragility of the health system, local medicine, preventive medicine and local public transport ».
