A newborn baby was thrown in the trash with the umbilical cord still attached. It happened in the last hours a Ragusa where the little boy was found still alive by a passerby who immediately sounded the alarm saving him from certain death. The discovery took place last night, Wednesday, in the Pianetti area of the Sicilian city. The baby had been thrown into a garbage can outside a building for door-to-door garbage collection. The complaints coming from that container in via Saragat made passersby suspicious.
Suspecting that it could be an animal thrown away like trash, the person approached and opened the container, discovering with great amazement and disdain that it was actually a newborn crying in despair. The little one had even been put in a plastic bag and only when we opened it did we realize that it was a newborn. The baby was wrapped in a blanket and then placed inside the bag. After the request for a car with a phone call to 118, the medical personnel rushed to the place of the discovery with an ambulance that treated the child and immediately transferred him to the hospital.
The newborn was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit from the “Giovanni Paolo II” hospital in Ragusa, but it is a preventive hospitalization to feed him and keep him under observation, since in the first tests no particular health problems would have arisen. The police are now investigating the case to try to locate the authors of the gesture and the mother of the abandoned child.
