How does the summer period without a precarious teacher contract affect the pension? Let’s find out.
Good morning I am a precarious kindergarten teacher, I need to know if at the pension level I have annual contracts from September to June 30 or August 31, how are the periods not covered calculated? Is it necessary to do something in terms of contributions?
Thank you very much for your kind attention.
In general, precarious school workers for the summer period not covered by the contract apply for unemployment benefits. If this is your case, you can be sure that the unemployment benefit is fully covered by a theoretical contribution.
The theoretical contributions derived from Naspi’s unemployment benefit are calculated as follows:
- First of all, the average taxable salary of the last 4 years must be identified,
- if it is less than 820 euros per month, the latter must be multiplied by the contribution rate of 33%.
- If, on the other hand, the average taxable salary of the last 4 years is higher than 820 euros per month, the contributions must be calculated on 1820 euros per month.
In any case, if the worker is subject to the calculation of the pension with a salaried or mixed system and the notional contributions cause a worsening of the amount of the pension owed, they are neutralized (that is, they are null for the purposes of calculating the pension) .
If, on the other hand, you have not applied for unemployment benefit for periods without a contract, you can redeem them (at your expense) with the peace of contributions up to a maximum of 5 years (but only if you do not have old contributions to 1996).
