Shot against the Brindisi Flying Squad. At dawn today, between the municipalities of Brindisi and Mesagne, a preventive custody order was carried out against 13 people: eight are imprisoned, the other five are subject to signature. The agents of the Brindisi police headquarters were assisted by numerous crews of the Puglia Crime Prevention Department, staff of the IX Bari Flight Department, in executing a blit resulting from a vast judicial police operation coordinated by the Directorate of the Lecce Antimafia District.
The complex and articulated investigative activity allowed the monitoring of criminal subjects and acts in a mafia-type associative context, aimed at the commission of extortion and other crimes, operating as well as in the capital throughout the province. In particular, all the elements acquired made it possible to demonstrate the current operation in this territory of the mafia association “Sacra Corona Unita” and specifically of that historical strip belonging to the Campana clan, active in the territory.
Details of the operation, dubbed “Old Generation”, will be released during a press conference to be held today at 11:00 am at the Brindisi police headquarters.
