Most of Piedmont will turn dark orange. This is what is filtered in these minutes of the meeting in the Piedmont Region to decide the color of the different areas and that will also determine the opening or closing of schools in the lower school cycles (as of Monday it is already expected that the students from the seventh grade onwards will be in distance learning one hundred percent).
However, the Region invites us not to oversimplify because the situations are analyzed district by district and it is not certain that they are themselves homogeneous within them. The only certainty is that twenty health districts turn dark orange in the provinces of Asti, Turin, Cuneo, Vercelli and Verbano Cusio Ossola. In these areas, schools at all levels will be closed and teaching will be remote.
The new restrictive measures are triggered both by the presence of variants and by the sudden increase in new cases in some areas. Two of the parameters identified in the last Dpcm to impose greater rigor. Piedmont, for schools, will be divided into a risk band 1, with all institutes of all levels closed, and afdanger ax 2, where the restriction will only affect classes from seventh grade onwards.

Access to playgrounds and skateboards is also prohibited throughout the region, only one person per family must enter the stores at a time (minors and disabled people are excluded) and home delivery of the meals instead of takeout.
The districts are added to the red zones already established in recent days. There are 23 municipalities that you can find in the following map
Meanwhile, according to the daily bulletin of the Piedmont Region Crisis Unit, 2,283 new positive cases have been identified today. This is 6% of the 37,508 swabs made (we are almost double the average of the last days). The vast majority were identified through contact tracing of positive individuals (1,122), while 512 are the result of screening activities and 649 of ongoing investigations. Most of the new cases were discovered in the school environment, 213, twice the number that had emerged in recent days. On the other hand, 35 were found in nursing homes and the rest were identified in the general population.
The bulletin records 24 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the epidemic to 9,461. On the other hand, 915 people were recovered compared to yesterday (a total of 229,964 since the start of the pandemic).
